Mission-Centered Ministry Training

September 25, 2013

A seminar is being offered this November 6 to inspire and encourage local churches in living out their mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Dr. Doug Anderson, Associate Director for Congregational Development for the Indiana Annual Conference, will be presenting a seminar on Mission-Centered Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, November 6th from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

The training will focus on the importance and process of developing spiritual leaders in line with our Wesleyan heritage when laity were dynamically involved in sharing the gospel message. Participants will be offered practical tools for aligning ministry consistently with our mission, including examples of results-based ministry descriptions.

Another key topic for the seminar is evangelism. Dr. Anderson will present a model for outreach that begins with service evangelism, moves to faith sharing in small groups and testimonies in worship, and ultimately expands to invitational evangelism to the people we know and faith sharing with new people we meet.

The registration fee for individual participants is $25. Churches may bring a team for a total of $75. In addition, each person is asked to pay $10 for food and resource materials. Watch for additional registration information in the next few weeks.
